After an illustrious collegiate career, Leona kicked off her professional career on the Ladies European Tour in 2019 and after two professional wins on the Symetra Tour secured her 2020 LPGA tour card. Leona is a two-time Olympian after competing in the 2020 Tokyo and the 2016 Rio Games, she also became the first Irish woman to play in a Solheim Cup, and a vital part of the winning European Team.. In 2022 Leona followed this feat up with her debut victory on the LPGA Tour at the Drive On Championship taking the title by a 3 shot margin. In doing so Leona became the first Irish winner on the LPGA in history.
