  • Poults Rolls On Through PGA Championship Midway Point

Despite blustery conditions that sent scores soaring, Ian Poulter posted his second straight sub par round at The Ocean Course, Kiawah Island on Friday and looked comfortable doing so. His second round 71 was well below the field average of just below 78, a scoring average that was the toughest in the history of the PGA Championship.

How tough was it out there? There were more rounds in the 90's than there were in the 60's. WOW!

Ian's steady tee to green play with his Cobra equipment from his ZL Encore White driver off the tee to his precise iron shots with his S3 Pro irons have allowed him to be one of only two players in the 156 player field to better Kiawah's often brutal par 72 both days.

Beyond his obvious comfort with his Adjustable Flight technology (AFT) setting in his ZL Encore, Poults is clearly comfortable with his AMP fairway metal as well as his Baffler Rail hybrid, two clubs which have become crucial with ball control at an absolute premium at the Ocean Course.

With the third round on the horizon Saturday, look for Poults to be ready for the challenge.

With longer, more forgiving technology in his bag, why wouldn't he be?

  • Rickie and Ian Take on WGC Bridgestone Invitational

As the PGA Tour season rapidly heads toward the FedEx Cup Playoffs and the Ryder Cup, COBRA Golf brand ambassadors Ian Poulter and Rickie Fowler are gearing up for their last tournaments of the Tour’s regular season this coming weekend and next.

This week is the Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio followed by the PGA Championship in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. A world golf event followed by a Major to kick off August? And we thought the fall months were where the action heated up!!

Ian comes into Akron playing very consistently with top 10’s in each of his last two starts and will enter the PGA with a pair of top 10’s in Majors this year. Unlike his last start, however, look for him to be able to reach into his Cobra bag for his ZL Encore driver much more often this week than he was able to playing links golf at Royal Lytham & St Annes. And when the tight fairways await in the Palmetto state, look for Poults to tackle some of the tighter driving holes with his juicy AMP 3 wood and his Baffler rail hybrid.

For his part, Rickie looks to jump back into playing competitively for consecutive weeks for the first time in two months and will do so with his awesome AMP Driver. This sweet driver has the innovative technology that has seen Fowler move from just inside the top 100 in total driving in 2011 to comfortably inside the top 20 in 2012. An amazing jump in the one driving stat that takes into account both distance and accuracy. Look for some serious AMPlification amongst Rickie’s legions of fans along the fairways of both Firestone CC and the Kiawah Island Resort in the coming weeks.

    An elite, invitation-only field.

    Glory’s last shot.

The playoffs and Ryder Cup on the horizon.

Good thing these guys have Fresh. Juicy. Sweet. Technology on their side.

  • Rickie and Ian at The Open

This week, RIckie Fowler and Ian Poulter are after the Claret Jug as they compete in golf's oldest and most storied tournament, The Open Championship!

Rickie continues his breakthrough year, which has already netted him his first PGA TOUR victory, beating a first rate field at the Wells Fargo Championship and seeing him grab 2nd a week later at the year's deepest field in THE Players Championship. Can he take home his first major? A T5 at last year's Open Championship should help provide AMPle evidence that he is capable.

Ian returns home with much optimism as well, having grabbed a top 10 both at this year's Masters and at his most recent start, the Alstom Open de France where he grabbed 4th place two weeks ago. Will Poults thrill the home crowd with a victory and what would sure to be fitting of an Encore celebration? We will find out Sunday as the sun sets on Royal Lytham & St. Annes.

    Baffler T-Rail Fairway
The Baffler T-Rail Fairway has a shallow face design with tungsten rails to deliver maximum forgiveness on the golf course. The tungsten rail sole improves turf interaction and moves CG lower and deeper for longer carry distances while the shallow face increases forgiveness and promotes an easy launch for higher trajectories. A high strength 455 steel face is utlizied to deliver a thinner and lighter face for increased ball speeds.

    Baffler T-Rail Hybrid
The Baffler T-Rail Hybrid has unique alignment lines that combine with other Baffler technologies to make longer approach shots easier to execute. Baffler T-Rails assist in generating higher, longer shots that land softly on the green.

    Trusty Rusty
Your Dad might remember the original Trusty Rusty wedge from the '90s. Designed by Phil Rogers, the Trusty Rusty was a fan favorite. Phil Rogers helped COBRA design the new Trusty Rusty wedge for versatility and shot making. Using a tri-bounce sole with rear scallop, we were able to optimize performance and versatility for long, medium and short/flop shots. The laser precision technology gives the wedges distinct surface roughnesses that result in maximum allowable spin.

    Big Trusty Rusty
The Big Trusty Rusty has an oversized sole to offer maximum forgiveness. The Big Trusty Rusty features laser precision technology like the Trusty Rusty but has a super-wide, tri-bounce rounded sole. This super-wide sole combines ultimate forgiveness with versatility.

  • The Ferrari Golf Collection Engineered by COBRA PUMA GOLF

COBRA PUMA GOLF is bringing consumers a premium new golf line. The Ferrari Golf Collection engineered by COBRA PUMA GOLF is a full offering that features luxury equipment, apparel, footwear and accessories. This long-term partnership between COBRA PUMA GOLF and Ferrari SpA is bringing a new type of product to the industry that is both beautiful and technically advanced, truly merging both art and science.

The Ferrari Golf Collection was developed through a collaboration with COBRA PUMA GOLF and Ferrari SpA. It brings the most innovative technologies from COBRA PUMA GOLF engineers and Ferrari aerodynamic engineers together with premium materials, packaging and unquestionable style.

“We saw an opportunity in the current marketplace to bring the Ferrari Golf Collection to life,” commented Bob Philion, President of COBRA PUMA GOLF. “It’s a high end collection the golf industry has never seen before; bringing together the best of COBRA PUMA GOLF enriched with the expertise of Ferrari in a superior product offering of equipment, apparel, accessories and footwear. We are thrilled to be working with Ferrari SpA on this long-term collection to bring a new, premium golf product line up to consumers.”

The culmination of the Ferrari Golf Collection lies in the COBRA Ferrari Driver, a true work of art designed and developed by COBRA PUMA GOLF equipment engineers with Ferrari SpA aerodynamics engineers. The result is a super premium, aerodynamic, multi-material design that delivers fast club head speed and exceptional distance. After studying the COBRA® ZL EncoreTM Driver Ferrari aerodynamics engineers suggested shape changes that would reduce drag coefficient, making the club swing easily through the air and resulting in more club head speed. These changes included new radii along the face perimeter, smoothing of the bottom sole surfaces and raising the trailing edge of the driver higher off the ground (to delay separation). These new designs along with multi-material construction reduce drag, increase club head speed and maximize distance.

“The Ferrari Golf Collection Driver is a work of art,” said Tom Preece, Vice President of Research and Development at COBRA PUMA GOLF. “We worked with Ferrari engineers to create a truly impressive driver that reduces drag and delivers fast club head speed. This results in maximized distance in a beautiful driver. To add to the allure, the driver features a hand-stitched leather grip, a headcover made from genuine Ferrari leather, a premium Fujikura® Motore Speeder Shaft and it is packaged up in a luxurious Ferrari Golf Collection Driver display box.”

The attention to detail, performance and style did not end with the driver. The Ferrari Golf Collection apparel, footwear and accessories fuse form, function and fashion in a collection of impeccable design. The accessory range features premium visors, belts, gloves, umbrellas and bags. A selection of the accessories, such as the Ferrari Golf Luxury Bag and Ferrari Golf Luxury Duffel, are crafted in Poltrana Frau Leather, the same leather used in Ferrari GT Cars.

This season, the Ferrari Golf Collection apparel features polos, knits, jackets and pants. The Ferrari Golf Tech Polo uses state of the art fabrics and technology such as COOLMAX® All Season, UPF 50+ and moisture wicking for a shirt that keeps you comfortable and stylish in any weather. The Ferrari On Course Jacket has a striking style with contrast red stitching on black fabric, this design was based off of the interior of a Ferrari car. The jacket is also breathable, wind resistant and water resistant for extreme comfort throughout course of play.

The Ferrari Golf Leather Shoe is handcrafted in Italy with genuine full grain leather upper and sole. Available in white or black, the shoe is the epitome of fashion and technology. Utilizing PUMA®’s S2Quill technology, the shoe provides superior traction, stability and support while on course. The delicate stitching in the shoe is designed after the interior of a Ferrari car and the sleek silhouette is an understated, luxury look that will have heads turning all over the golf course.

The Ferrari Golf Collection will bring a new level of luxury, performance and style to consumers’ golf games around the world. The collection can be found in select golf retailers, select Ferrari Stores and select high end retailers starting in July, 2012.
