Orange Out at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show
This year, COBRA PUMA GOLF had an Orange Out at the 2012 PGA Merchandise Show. Highlighting the new line of AMP products, we had an orange carpet, a slide landing in a pit of orange balls, the Orange Out! iPad game and served Orange Crush soda. Check out photos in the slidehsow below.

This week Rickie Fowler, Ian Poulter and Jonas Blixt are competing in the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open. Ian Poulter is coming off of a win at the 2011 JBWere Australian Masters; Jonas is in his rookie year on the PGA Tour and Rickie is coming fresh off of a T13 finish at The Farmers Insurance Open where he put his new COBRA Clubs into play for the first time.

All three golfers are equipped with the latest and greatest product from COBRA Golf. Rickie is currently playing the AMP Driver, AMP 3Wood and AMP Pro Prototype Irons; Ian is in the white ZL Encore Driver, AMP 3Wood, Baffle Rail 2/H and S3 Pro Irons; Jonas is playing the black/electric yellow ZL Encore Driver, S9-1 Pro 15 Fairway, AMP 2/H and S3 Pro MB Irons. 

Last year, the Phoenix Open hosted a Green Out during Saturday's round to raise money for Arizona Clean & Beautiful. They asked fans and players to turn up in their latest green gear. Keep an eye out to see what our three men will be wearing on course. Jonas is half way there with a black and electric green staff bag (new from COBRA!).

All three golfers were out on Wednesday getting some practice in ahead of the first round of competition on Thursday. Check out photos from their practice time here.

On Sunday, December 18th, COBRA Golf Tour Professional Ian Poulter won the JBWere Australian Masters by three strokes with the new COBRA ZL Encore Driver and a 2012 prototype 3-Wood in his bag.

Playing the ZL Encore Driver, Poulter beat out competitors Marcus Fraser and Geoff Ogilvy to take the win at the JBWere Australian Masters. Putting up a score of 15 under par, Ian used his new driver featuring E9 Face Technology^TM with dual roll for added distance and accuracy, getting him birdie after birdie on his road to victory.

En route to victory, Poulter was playing COBRA Golf clubs, including the all white ZL Encore Driver (8.5°) with an Aldila RIP Phenom 50X Shaft, 2012 3-wood prototype, Baffler Rail 2/H and S3 Pro Irons.  The all white ZL Encore Driver was released this past fall and also comes in a black/electric yellow cosmetic. It is the first driver on the market that gives consumers a choice in appearance and color.

COBRA PUMA Golf Tour Professional, Lexi Thompson, also earned a win this weekend at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. This marks the 16 year old’s second professional win ahead of her rookie year on the LPGA Tour in 2012. Lee-Anne Pace, also a COBRA PUMA Golf Tour Professional, came in second at the tournament.  Lexi headed into the final round with a one shot lead over Lee-Anne Pace. With 7 birdies in the final round, Lexi pulled ahead to win by four strokes.

Last year, Ian Poulter won the 2010 UBS Hong Kong Open using his brand new, limited edition, all white ZL Driver. This year, Ian is back with another new driver - an all white ZL Encore^TM Driver featuring E9 Face Technology^TM with dual roll and Adjustable Flight Technology^TM, to defend his title. 

At the 2010 UBS Hong Kong Open, Ian shot a total of 22 under par to beat Matteo Manassero and Simon Dyson by one stroke. In the final round of play, Ian birdied 3 holes on the front 9 and then put up a massive drive with his ZL Driver on the par 5 13th hole, setting him up for a perfect eagle.

This year, Ian looks to get similar results. His new ZL Encore Driver looks sharp in an all white cosmetic and boasts technology to help increase distance on drives.

Ian has a few guests along for the ride. Earlier this year, we ran the Stick It and Rip It campaign. John won the sweepstakes and took his brother to Hong Kong earlier this week. There, they got to caddy for Ian Poulter during a practice round and get a behind the scenes look at the UBS Hong Kong Open. John and his brother will also get to watch Ian in action during the tournament.

COBRA PUMA GOLF team member Diego Velasquez is in the thick of it at Q School this week. A Colombia native and University of Oregon graduate, Diego is looking to tear it up in his bid to secure a 2012 tour card. Check out photos from the first rounds at Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club.

This week, the LPGA wraps up its season with the CME Group Titleholders, taking place at Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando. The field features 59 players, comprised of the top three performers from this season's 22 LPGA events.  Among the group will be COBRA PUMA GOLF Tour pros Lexi Thompson and Anna Nordqivst.

Anna Nordqvist will tee off at 9:44 AM EST in the first round. Anna is paired with Brittany Lang and Catriona Matthew. Just last week, Catriona and Anna battled on the course at the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Catriona came out on top with Anna finishing close behind at T2. Be sure to tune it to watch them go head to head again!

Lexi Thompson will tee off at 9:22 AM EST and is paired with Giulia Sergas and Tiffany Joh. Lexi and Tiffany last squared off in the final round of the Navistar LPGA Classic where Lexi took home her first LPGA Tour win, making history in the process. At the ripe old age of 16 (and as the youngest player to win an LPGA event), Lexi looks to tear it up this week and hopefully come away with another win, continuing her historic momentum into her rookie LPGA season.

Today, Jonas Blixt was awarded his 2011 PGA TOUR Card. A COBRA PUMA GOLF professional since January, 2011, Jonas played in 23 Nationwide Tour events this year and finished at number 5 on the 2011 Money List.

Jonas is the highest ranked player without a win on this year’s Money List. He had 8 top 10 finishes and 3 second place finishes. 2012 will be Jonas’ first year on the PGA TOUR and we couldn’t be more excited for him!

Originally from Sweden, Jonas attended Florida State University and currently lives in Florida where he continues to cheer on the FSU team. Jonas currently plays the COBRA S-9 Pro 15 and S3 Pro MB Irons. His favorite PUMA Golf looks include the Duo Swing Mesh Polo and the Golf Performance Polo.
