Ian Poulter to Defend Title at UBS Hong Kong Open with ZL Encore Driver
Last year, Ian Poulter won the 2010 UBS Hong Kong Open using his brand new, limited edition, all white ZL Driver. This year, Ian is back with another new driver - an all white ZL EncoreTM Driver featuring E9 Face TechnologyTM with dual roll and Adjustable Flight TechnologyTM, to defend his title.
At the 2010 UBS Hong Kong Open, Ian shot a total of 22 under par to beat Matteo Manassero and Simon Dyson by one stroke. In the final round of play, Ian birdied 3 holes on the front 9 and then put up a massive drive with his ZL Driver on the par 5 13th hole, setting him up for a perfect eagle.
This year, Ian looks to get similar results. His new ZL Encore Driver looks sharp in an all white cosmetic and boasts technology to help increase distance on drives.
Ian has a few guests along for the ride. Earlier this year, we ran the Stick It and Rip It campaign. Fans were invited to test out the S3 Driver with E9 Face Technology to see how their drives improved with the new, elliptical face design and 30% larger Sweet ZoneTM. John won the sweepstakes and took his brother to Hong Kong earlier this week. There, they got to caddy for Ian Poulter during a practice round and get a behind the scenes look at the UBS Hong Kong Open. John and his brother will also get to watch Ian in action during the tournament.
Ian tees off at 7:30AM on Thrusday, December 1st alongside Edoardo Molinari and Rory McIlroy. Covergae starts at midnight EST on the Golf Channel.
