  • What our Tour Ambassadors Play

This week, we have four of our COBRA Golf Ambassadors playing on two different continents. Rickie Fowler and Jonas Blixt will be at the Crowne Plaza Invitational in the US while Ian Poulter and Johan Edfors are at the BMW Championship in England.

Each one of these guys has a different set up in their COBRA Staff bags. So how do you find the right equipment for you? First, take a look at your handicapp and how you tend to hit the ball. Do you slice it? Do you need more distance? Then do some research, check out what we have to offer on cobragolf.com and how different clubs can affect your game.

Afterwards, you should head down to your local authorized COBRA Dealer or head to a demo day (you find demo days near you here: http://bit.ly/KPcLnf ) to test out the equipment and get fit for the COBRA clubs that will best help and maximize your game.

  • Rickie On A Roll

Rickie Fowler has been on fire this year. With his first PGA Tour Victory under his belt and a T2 finish at The PLAYERS, we decided to give you a behind the scenes look at what Rickie plays and the impact his COBRA equipment has had on his game. Here’s an example, in 2011 he was 108th in Ball Striking but after his switch to the COBRA AMPTM Driver and AMP Pro Proto irons, he’s moved up to 8th.

Check out the details below to see how else his change to COBRA in 2012 has impacted and improved his stats.

    AMP Irons
Behind the scenes info from COBRA Tour Rep Ben Schomin: "Rick likes basically no offset in his blades. His primary focus is distance control and accuracy. We worked with him to take the learnings from our inline AMP and AMP Forged irons combined with his preferences to create his own AMP Pro Prototype blade. The change to his COBRA AMP Irons improved his confidence and now he is considered one of the best ball strikers on Tour."
    Rickie's set-up includes:
    * -1/2" so his 6 iron is at 37"
    * shaft same Dynamic Gold X100, but soft stepped to achieve same feel when it was +1/2"

    AMP Driver
Behind the scenes info from COBRA Tour Rep Ben Schomin: "The change to the COBRA AMP Driver dramatically improved confidence with the Driver, very much considered the 'engine' to his game."
    Rickie's set-up includes:
    * AMP Driver has an open, neutral and closed setting (each 1.5 degree variances). Rickie started the year in the neutral setting but quickly adjusted to the open position where he currently has it today (which takes the effective loft down to 7.6 from 8.3 in the neutral setting).
    * 45.5" length which is on the longer side for most on the PGA Tour

  • Sweet. Juicy. Victory.

Today, Rickie Fowler took home his first PGA Tour win in a quality field at the Wells Fargo Championship. The COBRA PUMA GOLF professional used his impressive driving distance and accuracy to fight off the competition in the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship. Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points headed to a playoff where Rickie took home the win.

Rickie had four impressive rounds hitting bombs off the tee. His total average driving distance was 305.9 yards for the tournament and hit almost 80% of the greens in regulation, ranking him at number one for total driving for the tournament. After a 5 under 67 on Saturday, Rickie charged during his final round, putting up 6 birdies to get into a playoff with Rory McIlroy and D.A. Points.

On the first playoff hole, Rickie hit his AMP Driver to a prime spot on the fairway, setting him up for his big finish. With a short shot to the green, Rickie hit it to 4 feet and sunk his birdie putt for the win.

“Rickie Fowler is an excellent brand ambassador for COBRA PUMA GOLF and has been tremendous for the game,” commented Bob Philion, President of COBRA PUMA GOLF. “He has a commanding combination of power and accuracy fueled by the COBRA AMP family of products that he combines with his signature style and edge, making him a world class golfer that fans rally around.”
