Jymi,

Although there are certainly differences between the two drivers, both utilize careful weight distribution and our patented rhombus face insert to create our hotter 9 points. This, as you know, translates to a larger sweet spot and more forgiveness.

Just by way of a little teaser, our next generation driver will still have 9 Point Face Technology, but we will achieve it in a totally new way. (Sorry - can’t say more than that!)

I’ve recently replaced my Speed LD 10.5 driver with a new S9-1 9.5 driver and love the result. My question is does the S9-1 offer the same 9 point technology that the S2 driver has.

Generally speaking, the S9-1 Pro D drivers are high launch, high spin drivers and are geared towards faster swing speeds. Like the S9-1 Pro drivers, the Cobra S2 are all-titanium but are more forgiving and have our Adjustable Face Technology.

Dr. B,

You can check here to see if there is a demo event near you coming up. There, you will be able to demo all kinds of Cobra clubs…

Richard,

Of course every club is going to play differently for every golfer. The S9 Pro drivers were very popular clubs, and if those play well for you, no one is going to fault you for that - especially us!

Keep striping ‘em.

Jimmy,

Curious if you made it to the demo event this past weekend? Were you able to hit some clubs?

Scotty,

If you are coming from an S9-1, you will want to take a look at our Cobra S2 driver. It is a very forgiving, all-titanium driver with our exclusive Adjustable Flight and 9 Point Face Technologies. However, if you are looking into the L5V driver, you will want to consider the new Cobra ZL. It is a multi-material driver (like the L5V) with great sound and feel, and it has Adjustable Face Technology like the Cobra S2.

Give them both a try and let us know where you end up.

Hey Gary,

We asked a member of our R&D team here about your question and this is what he had to say:

“It is possible that the shaft is causing the draw, but it is also possible that there are other factors. The draw could be promoted by the relatively large offset of the S9 irons versus what he used to play - thought that’s often more of a pull than a draw. If his clubs are too upright (lie angle) then he will tend to draw. A graphite shafted club will weigh less (total club weight) which perhaps is affecting the way he swings and causing him to draw. Bottom line - there are a number of variables involved. He should also remember that graphite shafts can be different stiffnesses and still the same weight. So just moving to a steel shaft (for more weight) may not fix the problem, as stiffness plays as big a part as weight.

I would recommend first trying to demo the clubs with the shaft configuration he wants to make sure that he likes the ball flight.  Better yet, he should get fit properly to make sure lie angle and everything is correct. At that point it will be a lot easier to figure out what he should do as far as re-shafting…”

Messed up when I went with graphite in my S9 irons…can’t seem to get rid of the excessive draw and would like to buy new with steel….problem is that you can’t get 1/4th of what you paid for them in a trade.

Wow. That Driver looks great but I am torn between that and getting the L5V to replace my S-91 F. Cobra has mademe a believer though for the drivers

I’m am interested in the S2 driver and S2/Hybrid irons, but haven’t found a demo in my area to try them. I’m left-handed and would like a Cobra rep to come to Stonetree Golf Club in Killeen, TX with some for me to try.
