Carlsbad, California (December 8, 2008) – Cobra Brand Ambassador Geoff Ogilvy captured The Cadbury Schweppes Australian PGA Championship on Sunday, closing with a 3-under 69 for a two-stroke victory.

Ogilvy took the lead on the par-5 15th hole at the Hyatt Regency Resort Course in Coolum and then pressed his advantage on the very next hole with a nine-iron approach to within one foot for a kick-in birdie. Ogilvy then came home in textbook fashion, striking a perfect drive followed by a solid approach to the 18th green and a tap-in for par that gave him a winning total of 14-under par 274.

For the 2006 U.S. Open champion and native Australian, this was his first win on the Australasian Tour. It was the second win for Ogilvy this season, his first victory coming in March at the WGC - CA Championship.

The Australasian Tour wraps up the 2008 season this week at Royal Sydney, where Ogilvy will be one of the favorites to claim the "third jewel" in the Triple Crown of Australian golf, The Australian Open.
