CARLSBAD, CA (February 17, 2011) - Cobra Golf announces the introduction of the Cobra S3 Max Iron-Hybrid Set that combines low-profile, wide-sole irons with large-profile, Baffler-style hybrids. Also available in an iron set, the S3 Max provides maximum forgiveness and consistent distance gapping.

COBRA S3® MAX IRON-HYBRID AND IRON SETS
The Cobra S3 Max Iron-Hybrid and Iron Sets make a graceful transformation from hybrids or long irons to short irons. The set is designed to pick up where the previous one left off, with consistent distance gapping. The 431 stainless steel irons have a low profile, which helps move the center of gravity back low and deep for a higher ball flight, while the wide sole lends stability that helps straighten shots.

"Our main goal for the Cobra S3 Max Irons was to make them as forgiving as possible with high launch," says Tom Preece, Vice President of Research and Development for Cobra Golf. "We achieved this by redistributing weight throughout the iron. That said, the 17-4 stainless steel hybrid clubheads are even more forgiving than the irons, due to their larger head size and railed soles."

Consistent Distance Gapping

• From hybrids to short irons, the Cobra S3 Max Iron-Hybrid Set is designed to provide consistent and reliable distances from one club to the next. Larger Baffler-style hybrids deliver maximum forgiveness.

Low-Profile Design

• Shifts the center of gravity low and back for improved launch and maximum forgiveness.

Railed, Powerback Sole

• Improves turf interaction for more consistency and power at contact, which promotes higher launch and maximum forgiveness.

The Cobra S3 Max Iron set composition is 4-GW for men and 5-SW for seniors and women. Shaft choices include UST-iHS graphite in R, Lite and Women's flexes, as well as S3 Max steel in S and R flexes. Cobra/Lamkin grips are standard.

The stock Cobra S3 Max Iron-Hybrid set compositions are: 3-5 Hybrid and 6-PW Iron with graphite R-flex iron shafts; 3-4 Hybrid and 5-PW Iron with S- or R-flex steel iron shafts; and 4-6 Hybrid and 7-SW Iron with Lite or Women's flex graphite shafts. Cobra/Lamkin grips are standard.

The Cobra S3 Max Iron-Hybrid Set is available at retail now, selling for $775/set with all graphite shafts, and $635/set with steel iron shafts (graphite in the hybrids).
