ZL Encore Driver

Hitting this club never gets old. Best driver I've owned in twenty years. Trimmed the shaft down to 44.5" on a 10.5* loft and I don't miss a fairway. Its amazing. This year I tried the Nike Covert and the Ping G25 to see if they were worth the hype. The answer is stone cold no!!

Hit a few shots, WOW, middle of fairway...long, Then the idea of I can hit it farther,.....but swing gets out of whack,....but this thing is FORGIVING..cant believe what I get on mishits, ...and they stay in play....Should go and buy another one, before they run out, or make an improvement.....Always wondered, Why ? if you make a great product, Why improve it...guess thats marketing (and technology)
Would definitely recommend this ....two guys I play with really took notice.
... only con, was I should have went to be fitted for the correct shaft....but stock, not to shabby.

Been playing Black ZL Encore 10.5 Stiff 2 degrees open for 3 months; way more consistent than previous S9 Pro D 10.5 Stiff; perhaps the ZL is more a MOI than the S9 Pro; the ZL trajectory w/F1 Motore is a mid-trajectory even though the S9 Pro w/Matrix Ozik is supposed to have a higher kick-point yet flighted the ball much higher; the shallower face made me get real and lower the tee a bit; definitely miss the old 'double-scoops' on the top of the head, though; also got the Baffler T-Rail 3 wood to match; even w/the offset face it's awesome from the fairway and also crazy straight w/mid trajectory; add a #2H + #3H T-Rail Baffler and hello tournament play! Always played Cobra. Always will. Cobrraaaaaa!!!!

I bought the ZL Red and love the look. I replaced my old Adams with a 9.5 stiff to get more roll and and to keep the ball in the fairway. The accuracy is a bit better but not every one goes in the fairway, I read the review about how this is 20 yards longer but I don't usually believe these claims and did not buy the club for that reason. Now that I have one I found I am really getting an extra 20 yards. It has a muted feel so you don't always think you are going to get any distance until you see your ball past everyone else in the group, At the close out price this is the sleeper bargain of the year. They will probably come out with a similar version with MyFly but with the adjustments on the ZL your really don't need it. Save the money and grab one of these while they are still available. I am 60 with a 12 handicap and play one a week.

I just traded in my Titleist 913D3 driver for this one. All I can say is wow. My new cobra is so long and easy to hit. I'm a Cobra believer. Now, I also bought the Cobra Amp Cell. The encore is my main driver , while the amp cell is my "change of pace driver. Guys this is the real deal.

I have never bought a brand-new, just-out-of-the-box driver ... Until now that is. In no conceivable way could I be any happier. My new Cobra ZL Encore (the black one) is without a doubt, the most forgiving driver that I have ever had the pleasure of swinging. I average 86 - 90 per round, and my speed swing is somewhere between a snail and a tortoise ... really, probably between 80 - 90 mph. I also have averaged, in the past, 3 - 4 bad drives per round. These are drives that not only are out of the fairway, but usually also require a recovery shot (or even worse, cost me a penalty stroke). I have played 5 rounds with my new ZL Encore and I have had 3 bad drives .... TOTAL!!!! I've suffered no drop in distance compared to my old Taylormade R7 CGB Max, and have enjoyed multiple drives that have been longer. So, good distance and world-class forgiveness ... need I say more? Okay, okay, I can't resist ...... I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new Cobra ZL Encore driver. Do yourself a favor and test one for yourself.

I absolutely love my ZL encore. I have tried multiple other drivers but nothing can beat the feel or distance i get with this one. The only negative thing would be I bought the black ZL a year ago in less than a year the shaft broke at the bottom where it connects to the head. ( not from a mishit either) I had only been out to play with it maybe 12 rounds since i bought it. It must have had defect in the end of the shaft. The head of my driver flew down the fairway ended up landing on the cart path with a gash in it. I sent it off for repair and was told because i didnt have my receipt they were going to just replace the shaft and not repair the club if i paid for it. That being said I feel like they should have replaced the club for free. thats what a Warranty is right? Anways, I went ahead and bought the ZL limited encore. If i didnt love my cobra driver and irons so much i would have switched to cleveland or ping after the way the customer service went and them not living up to the warranty. But again aside from that I love the way my cobra's play. They really are great clubs.

I purchased the ZL Encore White and all I can say is WOW! I stood on the first tee, still peeling the stickers off the bottom of the club and my first tee ball was long and straight.This club is the first driver that I have hit and can easily see the increase in distance, and I am easily talking a 10 to 15 yard increase, just in carry of the ball. I have played Taylormade, Ping and Titleist, and they are not even close to this driver. Set up in the neutral setting 9.5 degree and long and forgiving and so much fun to hit. If your are thinking about purchasing this driver, dont wait, go get one and you will be as happy as I am. Thanks so much.

I don't know what I was thinking. I have had an F Speed for about 6 years now and it's always been a trusty driver. But I stopped in to the Golf Mart a month or so ago and fell prey to the advertising. Even though I am consistently 260-280 off the tee who doesn't want more right? I bought a Callaway Razr Fit Driver, I should have known better as it was a return, what a score! Not. The guy kind of dialed me in on the computerized swing analyzer (never trusted those by the way) and off I went. Played the next day and only had a few swings on the range before I hit the course. In all fairness when I hit it well the ball really flew but the good hits were so few and far between I was wishing I had my F Speed in the bag. I have 90 days to return it so I am scrambling to figure something out. Lo and behold Carlsbad Golf Center had a demo day yesterday (lucky me). I walked up to the Callaway guy and asked him to fit me which he did. I didn't hit the ball well at all and he's changing my grip and stance. No dice. So I went over to the Cobra tent next and asked him to do the same. I started with the Amp which instantly felt better straighter drives right off the bat. Then he said well, if you really want something nice try this and he pulls out the ZL Encore. OMG WHAT A DRIVER!!! Instant Draw in the neutral position and LONG!!! I now know what I am going to get tomorrow. Can't wait to pull it out and kick everybone's butt! One observation, minor but important. It was a sunny day yesterday and I was swinging a white one with the silver Cobra writing center aligner on the top. I could not see the word Cobra. Good thing I can figure out where the center is. Therefore I am not getting the white one unless someone gives it too me before I get the black one. Does the 10.5 come in red?........

I just played my first tournament with this driver and had amazing results. This is the best driver I have ever hit. In my opinion, everyone should be playing this club. I've played Titleist, Callaway, Ping, Adams and Taylor Made and this driver beats them all - by far!! Incredibly forgiving and long with a great stock shaft.

Hi there guys, I would like you all to know how I came around to buying this awesome piece of kit! A friend and I went to our local pro shop hell bent on buying the brand new Taylormade R11s. Having not wanting to spend £300 on a driver, and not being custom fit for i asked the pro for Taylormade custom fit days (non were in the near future). He only had a Cobra day coming up which if I'm honest i screwed up my nose at and even felt insulted he could suggest such a thing lol. So we thought we would be cunning and turn up and get custom fit for a driver (cobra) then take the setting and buy our much wanted R11s. After spending 1hour with the Cobra Pro Rep, and hitting over 50 balls with the newly custom fit driver he set up for me I was quite literally shaking at the knees with the love affair which was starting with this club. Can i say i was using a Ping Rapture which was given to my by a European tour pro, as you can imagine i could not see me hitting anything better or further than i did with this club. (avarage 280yds) Again how wrong I was. I was fitted out with the 8.5 degree loft xflex shaft and a double tapped grip. Since I have had this club my horrible duck hook has virtually gone, I'm not hitting it as high as I used to and best of all I now stand behind every tee shot with this think knowing I'm gonna nail this bad boy. On our recent captains day i held the longest drive from 06.30 am until 16.40 when a fine 5 handicapper and a plus1 golfer both beat it. My drive was a MISS HIT which finished 310yds up the fairway. Cobra I cannot thank you enough for this unbelievable club, and to anyone who made the mistake I made and look down your nose at this manufacturer, its your loss big time, Taylormade do the advertising right....let them, Cobra know they make the clubs right!!! I was custom fitted right through every club in the bag, and fully intend to buy a new set of AMP irons which I found I got 15 yds further on my 7 iron when I can afford them. I fell in love with this club. I have been having driver issues since I have been playing golf. (6 yrs) I picked up the all white and have not put it down,the guys hate that I have this drive all par gives are really close now. The non sound is great, I think the high flight and the looong flightakes them mad have to look at it a long time avg drive 295 get one you won't be mad.

Incredible! my hcp is 8,5 I bought a 10,5¡ flex S just after 10 shots it was like I was using this drive since two years. Very very easy and clearly very long because you feel control and you can shot with all your power.

Great driver. Has a unique sound when you hit the sweet spot. Has a great feel. The right fit for my swing. Played Taylormade for years never thought I would switch. Excellent club.

I bought the ZL Encore white driver and increased my driving distance by almost 25 yards. Its nice and light and has an awesome gloss finish. Definately recomending to everyone that wants to improve their game with a long straight ball!

WOW love it, I was normally around the 250 mtrs but now that's on the fly, thanks Cobra staff for this sweet driver, deffently dropped some yapping jaws at the Tee. Also the white colour looks apart.

Vey solid driver. A winner. Period. Got the all white, 10.5, Motore F3, 55 gr shaft (R) and the driver is very well balanced with a feeling of lightness, sits superbly square in the ÔÕ N ÔÕ position, gets the ball airborne easily, has a nice muted sound at impact, produces a higher ball flight due to slightly whippy shaft, is very, very long and unaffected by off center hits, cosmetically very pleasing ( I get comments all the time on this ). To have so many good qualities/specs in a driver is a rarity but Cobra did it. I very strongly recommend that you give a try to this driver and you will see and feel the difference !!

This is the best driver i have ever used, my brother bought the taylor made rbz and i purchased the white zl the difference in the 2 drivers speaks for itself as it smokes the rbz's par 5's have now become very short holes for me, great soft feel off the face of the club and the forgiveness is astonashing! give it a try at your local shop!! you wont be sorry

I just got my white ZL encore on the 26th of November 2011 in Johannesburg South Africa. I played it the very next day and was shocked at how different it is to my old original ZL! Not only is it lighter, but so easy to hit and also to hit consistently! I can honestly say that this is the best driver I have ever owned and it looks the business too!
