Do yourself a favor and try these clubs out. Review by MB Golfer
I wasn't planning on buying a new set of golf clubs...that is until I hit these clubs at a local golf store. I couldn't believe the difference, I was gaining 25 to 30 yards from my old clubs. When I tried some of the other brands it was no where near that. If anyone is reading this and wondering whether to buy these clubs or not, I say go try them and let the superior product speak for itself. (Posted on 4/12/2013)
Overall great clubs Review by Aaron
These are pretty darn good clubs. I came from hitting Mazuno T-Ziod pros. I will say my T-Ziods hit a little farther on pure shots but the Cobra Amped Irons go farther and straiter on mis-hits. My Mazuno's were tour irons so thats expected but once I figured out my Cobras they feel very pure. More forgiving and great feel. (Posted on 4/10/2013)

Got these for Xmas after being a Callaway guy for years (X18), decided to stop into Golfsmith to try out some new irons figuring its maybe time to upgrade (6 yrs), after reading all reviews on the AMPs I was very interested in them. I asked the guy there and he said that he liked them the best as well. I hit them in the demo booth along with my own X18s and I was 10-15 yds further. Very clean and solid shots. I didn't even try another club and the guy at golfsmith didnt recommend any either. Played my first 9 today, seemed very nice and solid, still forgiving but playability, although tough to really get a feel as it was 37* wet and windy. Overall, very nice feel and would highly recommend them to anyone in search of irons. Great job by Cobra, I have never been a fan, but I now own a 3H, 4-GW, LW.. (Posted on 12/28/2012)

OK, I have officially been snake bitten! First it was the AMP driver. Crazy easy to hit and ridiculously long. Then I bought a used AMP 7 iron off eBay to try. BEST feeling iron I think I've ever swung. And the way these irons interact with the turf is second to none. So that led to a full set of irons. Figured what the heck, just as well try out the hybrids. One Baffler T-Rail 3H and an AMP 4H later, I have a lot of snakes in he bag. Cobra, and their current line up, are EXTREMELY underrated and don't get enough credit and chatter. But that's OK, I want to keep it my little secret. Thanks Cobra! (Posted on 12/16/2012)

I've been a big fan of Cleveland irons for a long time and have been reluctant to switch because I just wasn't seeing a much better club at a reasonable price point. I finally decided to upgrade this year and I hit just about everything out there and it finally came down to Mizuno and Cobra. I should also mention I recently hit the new Rocketbladz and I didn't hit them any farther than the Cobra or Mizuno so in the end it came down to feel. On that, I can tell you the TM felt softer but not in a good way, almost dead would be the best way I can explain it but the ball does travel and no matter where I hit the ball it always felt the same, not good I want feed back. I can tell you with the Cobra misses traveled further, dispersion was the least and they felt the best for me. My only gripe is the PW and GW they feel a bit light and they just hit the ball too high. In my opinion Cobra would have been well served to put a flighted shaft in this model because there is a ton of technology in the heads, in fact a lot more than I expected. I almost pulled the trigger on the Mizuno 825 irons but in the end the Cobra just felt better and dispersion was actually better. As for the color, well it really isn't my first choice but who cares they do what the manufacturers says they will and more. one more thing, want spin and workability?' they deliver. I recently went to my local Golf Galaxy. I hit the Callaway Razr Black, Burner 2.0, Mizuno JPX825 Pro, and the Adams CB3 along with the AMP's. Thye only one remotleey close was the CB3's. They felt very similar and created similar results. However, the AMP's just murdered them in terms of looks and price. The orange is so nice compared to the dull black of the CB3's. Also, they are $100 cheaper. Although the AMP's are a great price, I do not currently have them because I am a 14 year-old who needs money to afford clubs, and hopefully my dream of the PGA. Im that gamer that knows that you need skill to play the game, but the TOOLS are also very important. I have always gamed Callaways in the past and simply loved them. I had the BB2004, X14, X22 and Razr irons. But as my game improved, I wanted something that played better, yet was forgiving. An iron that I could use down to single digits (with target in 2013), but would assist and not over punish me, I mean the game is hard enough. In my quest I tried all the new irons from Callaway, Taylormade, Mizuno etc you name it I gamed it, but it was never a perfect fit. My playing mates would rub it in by saying I WAS TRYING TO BUY MY GAME. That was not the case but golfers know when they have found IT in an iron. I had heard about the Amp Irons and simply loved the specs and pics, but just kept putting it off. I have always liked Cobra irons and have Cobra drivers which are the best I have ever had. Still Carry a 8 year old SZ drive that I love and can hit 220 blind folded. One of my golf buddies bags the Pro CB and I can hit those very well. After weeks of contemplating, I finally decided to go to my local golf shop and hit these irons and get the read outs. All I can say, love at first sight. Sleek design, nice top line, V skid sole, SWAG grips. Ok but how do they hit. Hit the PW, then the 8 and 6 iron. Slowly a smile crept over my face. No way. Not a great ball worker, but let me try a draw, done, fade, done, punch shot, done, what this can be. I must be having good day and just feeling it. Cant be the irons. I left the store WITHOUT buying the irons. The whole day and the next couldnÕt get over how great these irons felt. I took my CallyÕs to the range and hit the Razr and X22. Very sweet irons, but not what I experienced with the Amps. Called the golf shop and asked if they still had them, they did and If I bought them that day, he would give me a good offer as the Cobra rep was at their store. In the car and 30 minutes later, I have these beauties in my car. But how would they hold up during play? Well the next day answered all my questions. After 30 minutes on the DR range, played 18 holes and scored by best score ever!!!! I had 7 pars and approach shots that were inspiring. If not for poor putting and bad weather (rain and wind)I would have been looking to break 80! Like what a previous reviewer said, stop looking, these are the real thing. All I can say is THANKS COBRA! (Posted on 11/20/2012)

I was in the market for a new set of irons earlier this year. I heard so much about all the TM irons 2.0, RBZ etc. so instead of those I bought the S3Max which were better that the TM in my opinion. But when they dropped the price on the AMPs it was a no brainer to try them out. So I went to my Local Golf store and tried them along with the 2.0, RBZ again and I was so amazed at the quality of shots I was hitting with the AMPS. I gained almost a club 1/2 on some shots. These clubs are great for any level player. I am so glad I made the switch and not go with what everyone thought I should go with. Cobra you have an ultimate winner here. Thanks Cobra! I haven't golfed in 15 or so years and recently got back into it. Started using an extra set my friend lent me (generics),first three times out I was shooting high 50`s low 60`s. Since I bought the Amps I have shot a 51,45,and a 50 on 9 holes. I still consider myself terrible, but now I spend more time in the fairway, which in turn has lessened my scores. The only issue I have with theses clubs is the insane trajectory they produce. All in all, this was a worthy purchase in my opinion. Thanks Cobra. (Posted on 10/27/2012)

I purchased a set of Amp irons 5 - PW, with stiff shaft about 2 weeks ago. I absolutely love them. Hitting the ball straighter and longer by at least one club from my previous set of Diablo's. The look over the club is great. At first it looked really thin but man does the ball come off clean. Great spin, can't say enough good stuff about them. Confidence in ball striking is better every round. Have a three metal and am looking for the driver as we speak. Great work with this line Cobra. (Posted on 9/7/2012)

Dear Cobra Golf, I just wanted to let you know that I bought a set of Cobra Amp Irons at the beginning of August 2012 as kind of self birthday present. Yesterday, I played Poplar Creek in San Mateo, California and on the 15th hole par 3 138 yard hole but the tees were at 162 yards with a 2 club wind into us. I hit my Titleist Velocity golf ball with my Cobra Amp 5 Iron and watched it sail straight at the hole landing on the green and rolling right into the cup for a Hole in One. Luckily I had eight witnesses and it will be in the San Mateo Newspaper. These clubs when properly hit feel like they are all headed for the hole. My game has dropped from the high 80s to the low 80s. Thank you Cobra for making such a wonderful golf club. Joe A. *** That a way Joe! Huge congratulations. I have always played Cobra drivers and Callaway irons until now. These AMP's are going higher and longer than any club I've ever used. As a 59 year old senior playing off an 8 hcp I'm delighted that my AMP 8 iron flies further and higher than my X20 Callaway 7 iron. All the clubs are hitting longer! I've never played GI irons before and if somebody would've told me a week ago I would be buying Cobra irons bookended in orange, I would've laughed. Well, when the ball just submits to the AMPs, I am laughing all the way to a 170 yard seven iron. It took about 1/2 of a range bucket to make some minor ball placement adjustments, as I've been playing Cleveland TA 3's for some time, but haters of the orange will be amazed how quickly it will become their favorite color, after the Dynalite 90 S shaft flexes its power at the point of impact. I will have to do some yardage tweaking, but what a great problem to have - adding 20 yards of length to your irons. I can't get over how much I imposed my will on the range with my new AMPs. There were shots where I was actually saying, Wow! and That's just ridiculous. First new set of irons I've bought in over a decade and I can say that these clubs have been well worth the wait. Cobra has really gotten the club Kool-Aid right with these, and the flavor is orange. (Posted on 5/23/2012)

I cant wait to have my brand new Cobra AMP's irons. Since I tried this iron at the Golf Show in Santa Clara,CA I was in love.....I love the feel of this club. I like them so much that I wait month and half to get fit it at Golf Smith during the Cobra Demo Day. Currently with my 7 iron nike slingshot I hit around 150 yards, now with the cobra before getting fitted I hit 170 yard then after getting fitted 190 yard with a 7 iron. Can you believe that? These are the best iron so far for an amature like me :) Hopefully they are ready next week because I cant wait to hit the course with the new irons. Something that I notice is that most people complaint is about the grip. In my case it really doesnt matter. I dont think I even look at the grip when I address to the ball but I really like the feeling of the grips. Anyway, if you have it try these club. Its time to do it. Thank you~~ Cobra for making my life easier and happier ) Thanks, Christian (Posted on 4/20/2012)

I was at Dick's Sporting Goods with my family, not looking to change clubs when I came across these. The orange grips initially caught my eye. They had a 7 iron demo in both stiff and regular so I decided to take a few swings.... and then WOW! High launch and increased distance. The grips felt nice, the clubhead had a thin topline (unlike my Burner 2.0's) and the club felt amazing. I have played TM's or Titleist for over ten years and had never once swung a Cobra club of any kind and I was soooooo impressed. So I then took my R11 Driver into Golf Galaxy with an open mind, tried the AMP driver, the RAZR Fit and my R11.... and again I loved the AMP. The feel and ease of swing just really shocked me. In any event, my 2.0's, R11 Driver and R11 Fairway will be hitting eBay this weekend! I am still unsure of the orange grips, but I did love the Lamkin NDUR 3-Gen. I know it might cost a little extra, but Lamkin has the exact same grips in many, many color options - so worse case I will regrip! Love the clubs! *** Hi Blue Turf - that's great to hear. I had my sight set on the new Razr X Black for month now, it was by chance a friend of my bought these AMPs and put them on FB. So I decided to give them a try last weekend. I was at the Rancho Cucamonga Roger Dunns, and had was comparing the Razr X Black, AMP, and RBZ on their launch monitor, they also suggested me to try the Ping G20. Without warm up and just a couple of easy practice swing I took my first swing with the AMP 7 iron. WOW, 190+ carry, 203 total yards, is that real? with a little draw, let me try it again, and again, and again. Well, those numbers keep repeating themselves with the high of 220 on a slight block shot to the right. After the AMP, I was on the X Black, they are on average about 8-12 yards shorter, but with better grouping. Then the RBZ, these I hate, I think its the KBS shafts, I think they would work better with different type of shaft. As for the Ping, it was not in the same distance catagory, although it has good feel and they are fairly forgiving irons. Well, although the Dynalite 90 in Stiff flex is not my shaft of choice, I was so impressed with these AMP irons, I ordered a set anyways plus I also went back the 2nd time to get the AMP 3 Hybrid. On the irons I needed 1* up, +3/4 on legnth, and they didnt have them in stock. I just wished I had known I could had ordered them with the shaft of my choice (Project X). Now let's hope this club will get here soon so I can see what they can do on the course. (Posted on 4/9/2012)

I recently decided to buy new irons. I went to Golf Galaxy and test drove Ping, Callaway, Mizuno and Cobra AMP irons. Going in I thought I would end up with the Pings, but after hitting the Cobra irons, they were clearly the best feeling/hitting irons of the four. I liked the look, the light shaft and the fact that they hit it longer. After hitting these irons at the driving range a few times I'm very happy I bought the Cobra Amp irons. I love the feel and sound when I hit the ball. They also produce a good ball flight. I would highly recommend these clubs. I've had three sets of Cobra irons and the AMP irons are by far the easiest to hit and the most solid feeling. The lofts are a little aggressive, as I am a low ball hitter to start with, but it's something that can be easily factored into club selection. The nippon shafts work well in these irons. I'm very happy that I purchased the AMP irons. (Posted on 3/29/2012)

Went into Golfsmith yesterday to demo Mizuno's MP lineup: MP-59, MP-53, MP-69. Fell in love with the feel of the 69s but knowing they don't offer a ton of forgiveness was leaning towards the 53 or 59s. Figured I'd head home to think on it a bit. As I was leaving I noticed an iron with an orange grip. Thought what the heck, let me try this thing. All I can say is wow. Loved the feel, the sound, the look. I wasn't in a bay with a launch monitor so not sure how the AMP 7 iron compared stats wise with the Mizuno 6 irons but it felt really good. Need to find an opportunity to demo a set on the range to see if the Dynalite shaft is too high launching. Seemed pretty high into the net. Also wonder if these are workable at all. The heads looked quite long so guessing that got sacrificed. *** Hey shankyouverymuch, Love the name! As for your question, the AMP iron will work for players of all abilities but is really geared towards the mid-handicap player. The AMP offers a great balance of forgiveness and performance - if you are looking for more workability, you may want to check out our AMP Forged irons. They too offer some forgiveness but they are really geared towards the better player. Lastly, note that the Dynalite comes in a regular and stiff stock shaft, but if that doesn't work for you, we offer a wide range of other shafts through our custom department which you can view here: (Posted on 3/27/2012)

I've played probably ten rounds now with these irons, and they are straight and long. Love the way they come off the club face. To give you an idea, I can stand over a 4 iron shot and feel completely confident as I swing. I did have to adjust, because they are 1.5 clubs longer than my previous (Callaway Fusion) irons. That's an adjustment I don't mind making. I like the grips and orange accent, also. Golf equipment is in general looking tired, and I'm glad Cobra is Puma'ing out their line. (Posted on 3/20/2012)

I have been hitting the Taylormade Burners 1 with graphite shafts for the last two years with varied success. Never felt that I could simply set up, aim, swing ... and the ball would co-operate. You know ... that feeling when the ball actually does what you want! Then I tried the Amp Irons fitted to my swing and it was amazing. Better distance, deadly accuracy, not a trace of a slice ... I was bisecting the greens. It's so important to get fitted by a real pro who watches your swing and ball flight, then sets you up with the proper shaft and head adjustment. To make a long story short, these clubs combined with the 4,5, and 6 Baffler hybrids have made hitting the ball a complete joy. For the first time I actually feel that there is a reasonable chance of making a par (or better) on most holes where I play. Thank you Cobra! *** Thank YOU Ridgeman! We appreciate your love for our AMP irons but we also want to acknowledge your excellent point about fitting - many people buy clubs blindly and then come back to us and wonder why the clubs don't work for them. I hit these clubs a few times at a few stores. Loved the feel of them. I ordered some custom fit clubs from the factory. Pros: great feel and responsiveness. Forgiving but also some playability. Love the orange club head. Lot more distance than my previous set. The orange groove allows for easy alignment with the ball at address. Cons: I was really disappointed that I didn't have the orange grips. I'm a big guy and had to order mid-size grips. They were plain black and very generic. I can't believe Cobra doesn't have mid-size grips in orange. One of the reasons I loved this club was that it stood out among the crowd. Now they blend in. (Posted on 3/2/2012)

I just ordered clubs online and received some high end fake taylormades, out of disgust for wasting money i went to my local golf store and hit just about every iron they had.I decided i was not going to worry about cost and just worry about feel of the clubs. After a hour or so of elimanation the clear stand out to me was the cobra amp irons. They have clean simple lines and amazing light weight feel and i loved the orange grips they make me remember golf is about having fun and i plan to have a lot of fun with my clubs (Posted on 2/23/2012)

Wow!!! I just sold my set of Taylormade burners and had my heart set on the new R11 irons. I had hit the R11 demo on the range and was 95% set on those being my new set for spring until I went to DickÕs and saw the Cobra AMP irons. I decided to give them a try and OMG they are the best irons I have had in my hands period. The feel was awesome and I love the orange grips. I got more yards and they were so easy to hit. I want to order them now but the golf pro at my local shop says wait till demo day at the end of March and compare the twoÉnot sure if I can wait these clubs are awesome I am active Army and would like to be the man on post to have these first!!!! Awesome Irons. (Posted on 2/22/2012)

I tried these clubs out at Golf Smith and loved the feel. After one week of range time, I have them dialed in. Even on a missed hit the distance is great! The weight and feel of a shot is also great. These irons look great all around. I didn't mind the orange grips but I had to re-grip due to my big hands. These irons have made me a believer of the Cobra Golf irons. (Posted on 2/20/2012)

I hit this club today along with several others. My swing was off due to NE winters, but even so this club had the best results for a bad swing. Can't wait to hit them after I've been to the range a few times. What shaft options are going to be available? KBS, Project X.........? Could you send me a custom list. **** Hi Dbogolf, Thanks for the comment. We love the enthusiasm that comes from our fans in the colder climates like New England and Canada! Just for your own information, the shaft options are shown above in the Shaft Specifications box - on the top-right there is a button. But to make it easier, you can click here: Stay warm - spring will be there before you know it! (Posted on 2/19/2012)

Looks great!! Cobra fans, it looks to be an awesome year for Cobra Golf. I am so pumped about the new AMP irons and Fowler representing Cobra on the Tour. I am still getting use out of my S3 proÕs, but am itching to try the new irons. Get pumped!!!!!! Oh my rating is a 5 all the way!!! Cobra rocks. (Posted on 2/15/2012)

I hear it's better than the S3, do like the orange and black and still not too sure of the orange handle?? Wish you would have gone black even with orange dashes running down the club. If I buy this club, the grips will be re done costing me more? Add an alternative grip, please! I was going to buy the S3 irons last yr and with a injury on my right hand missed the season. I own the S2 Max they are okay but looking for an upgrade. I called your 800# on 1/11 and talked to Zach(?) and we discussed this and more. Great call with him, Cobra I am a 100% fan... it's the grip! LOL (Posted on 1/12/2012)
